The Ebro Delta Natural Park is one of the largest wetland areas in the Mediterranean basin. <\/p>\n
The mouth of the River Ebro is one of the most important wetlands on the Mediterranean coast, with an exceptional wealth of flora and fauna. It is estimated that between 50,000 and 100,000 birds of 300 different species live in the Ebro Delta, including flamingos and the Corsican gull. The humid climate favours the presence of insects and the varying degrees of the water\u2019s salinity attracts large numbers of fish, including eels, red mullet and rays. The Delta was formed by sediment brought down by the river and it has many kilometres of unspoilt, natural beaches that coexist with lagoons and rice paddies in a mutating landscape that changes with the seasons.<\/p>\n
